Head In The Clouds was established in Norwich by Martin Wyatt in April 1971. It is now the oldest headshop in the UK, and we strive to continue the hippie ethos with a groovy, love and peace atmosphere of incense and laughter. The front room layout has barely changed since we opened, but we extended our clothes room in the early 1980s, and relocated our shoes and beads to our sister shop, Feet On The Ground, next door. This website was launched in July 2007 and is updated and monitored by Martin's son, Jake.
Feet On The Ground opened at 15 Pottergate in the early 1980s and has been through a number of name-changes since then, most notably as the St Gregory's Gift Shop. It reopened as Feet On The Ground in 2004, primarily to house the vast shoe department of its parent shop. Along with a range of velvet Tai Chi shoes, sandals, boots and woollen slippersocks, Feet On The Ground has become well-known for its outstanding collection of flamboyant party masks from around the world and vast choice of unusual threads, beads and findings. It is a characterful, independent boutique with a lot of charm and friendly, enthusiastic staff who will happily help you find the right mask for your occasion and advise you on your beading creations, as well as sort you out with comfortable, elegant and very affordable footwear.
